Candy Drive For Homeless Shelter

« Return to News

From October through January, there are many reasons to give and eat candy. Afterwards, one is left with bags of leftover sweets that work directly against your New Year's resolution to finally drop those pesky pounds.

This year, our middle school classroom held a candy drive and asked all employees wanting to get rid of their extra candy to bring it to Walter Lawson Children's Home. Our middle school classroom collected over 900 pieces (almost 1000) of assorted candy that they donated to MELD at Trinity House, (a homeless shelter providing housing for homeless pregnant women or young mothers and their children). With the candy, the shelter will make birthday treat bags for the children that reside there. Thank you to the middle school class room for the great idea and all of our wonderful employees for donating to a worthy group!
