In a heartfelt recognition of its unwavering mission, Walter Lawson Children’s Home has been named a 2025 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the AmericanHealth Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). This national honor celebrates the Home’s exceptional dedication to enriching the lives of children and young adults with developmental disabilities through compassionate, individualized care.
For more than50 years, Walter Lawson Children’s Home has been a place where residents are not only cared for, but truly known—where milestones are celebrated, challenges are met with creativity and patience, and each individual’s dignity is honored.

The AHCA/NCALNational Quality Award Program is a rigorous three-tiered process built on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program standards, a nationally recognized framework for organizational excellence. At the Bronze level, providers must clearly define their mission and values, identify their key stakeholders, and demonstrate a systematic approach to continuous improvement.
This honor is more than a milestone—it is a promise to the families who entrust their loved ones to Walter Lawson Children’s Home. As a Bronze award recipient, the Home will continue advancing toward the Silver – Achievement in Quality Award criteria, always striving to provide the highest level of care and support.
The 2025 National Quality Awards will be formally presented during Delivering Solutions 25, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, October 19–22, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
